Reaching for Life Book
To order our book: "Reaching for Life" (Breast Cancer Survivors & the Sport of Dragon Boat Racing): Dynamic Dragon Boat Racing LLC, PO Box 5659, Knoxville, Tn 37933 Cost is $25 (comes with a pink back tote with race dragon boats logo while supplies last) & proceeds will benefit breast cancer dragon boating all over the US. My chapter is "Reaching for Recovery" & I share my story of battling 2 stage 4 cancers & my love & work with The Lance Armstrong Foundation. I hope you will get your copy & be blessed.
NOTE: Circumstances have changed since my contribution to this work. After founding a dragon boat program and captain/coaching a group of bc survivors in Anderson, SC & raising funds in order to purchase a Swift Dragon Boat, I ( Livestrong Upstate Representative) turned (donated) the local program over to Anderson's local cancer association. Livestrong Upstate, as the Grassroots Organization of The Lance Armstrong Foundation, has formed mixed dragon boat teams and participated in several festivals since "08 (Charleston, Atlanta, Upstate, Tennessee & Canada) and we will continue forming teams for various festivals throughout the US and Canada. (maybe even across the pond, one day...gonna dream, dream BIG!). If you are in the Upstate of SC and have interest in "Paddling Strong", contact me at ajsuttles@bellsouth.net
You do not have to be a breast cancer survivor to participate in future db festivals with the Livestrong Upstate Dragon Boat Team. Survivors of any cancer, supporters/caregivers and professionals in the field are welcome.

Make It Count!
Cliche, it may be, but there really is a "Silver Lining". Circumstances do not define us nor are they allowed to dictate our potential. We were created in the image of God, born with power and purpose. We were designed with destiny and the steps to that destiny are layed out before us in all situations, good or bad. We cannot afford to waste the opportunities in opposition.
I will always remember the pain from the cancers but what has triumphed the pains is the victories. Victory that was not of my own accord but that of God's Amazing Grace. In all things, we can trust Him and when the rubber meets the road and it will eventually, for all of us.
Make it count!

A Penny For My Thoughts
Today, I was given a birthday card from my son, it was beautiful and sweet but it's not my birthday. Inside the card..was written: "You began telling what you were called to say 3 years ago today." ......
The card was a birthday celebration of my blog.
I started blogging 3 years ago, today, after coming out of a second stage 4 cancer and becoming a cancer advocate with The Lance Armstrong Foundation. Typing out my thoughts, opinions or posting a celebration became my way of fighting cancer back. A way to journal my new life of "Thriving cancer", not just surviving. My blog became snapshots of who I had become after the cancers and expressions of who I dream to be. I'm not sure my thoughts hold any real value to anyone other than me but they're all I really own and they're all I can really have any control over. So maybe a penny for my thoughts is asking too much but to have the opportunity to share hope and joy for "Life after cancer", is priceless!

Freedom
The absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action.
We have been blessed with freedom but it did not come to us without costing someone something. Many lives were the price for us to live with choices and free will. Today, We celebrate our Independence as we should but let us also remember all those who are in bondage. There are more slaves today than ever in the history of mankind.
We can't do everything, but we can do something.

Moving Forward
Forward Conference 2010, Atlanta, Ga.
Speakers were Jim Caviezel , Steven Furtick, Christine Caine, Jentezen Franklin, Reggie Dabbs, Judath Smith; Praise & Worship was led by Israel Houghton, Planetshakers, Third Day and The Free Chapel Band.
If your not moving forward, you're either standing still and going nowhere fast or you are living life in reverse and life was never meant to be lived in that direction.
You will never step into God's purpose for your life except that you continue moving forth. Don't gather up the broken pieces lay scattered amongst the ruins, leave them.... you'll find your better off without them. As we walk on, God will heal the wounds and restoration will come.

Destiny and purpose is waiting your arrival with great anticipation.
